## Active scam notice: Beware of fake websites
We are aware of an active scam targeting EverBank clients. Fraudsters are promoting fake EverBank websites on search engines and are trying to steal your login information. There is a higher rate of incidents via Bing than Google, although both are being impacted.
What is brand impersonation spoofing?
Brand impersonation spoofing is when someone disguises a website URL, email address, sender name or phone number— often just by changing one letter, symbol, or number —to convince you that you are interacting with a trusted source.
For example, you might click a link from a search result that lands on a website that looks like EverBank—but it actually isn’t. Scammers use AI tools to copy the exact logos, text, and layout of familiar brands.
Criminals count on being able to manipulate you into believing that these spoofed communications are real, which can lead you to provide your login information, download malicious software, send money, or disclose personal, financial, or other sensitive information.
